This is a very good vampire romance. If you like a lot of sex in your stories this book may not be for you. there are no explicit sex scenes in this book, you are lead to understand it is happening but it is not described. You can not help but like Drake for all he will go thru to keep Elena.

This is a good story told in a short to the point action packed way. Would have loved it to be longer, but I know that Dana Marton has other books in this Agents Under Fire series. On the Nook this book has 141 pages.

In this novel you jump right into the action. The characters are well written and believable. On the Nook this book is 321 pages. It will be interesting to see if an of the other characters in Cameron's Law turn up in other books. Mia currently has another book out entitled WHEN FOREVER DIED.
Cameron's Law has made all supernatural creatures legal citizens, and the boy next door has suddenly become the werewolf next door. With Sadie Stanton, vampire and one of the public faces of the legislation, calling the little town of Adelheid, Connecticut home, it can't help but be a focal point for these once mythical beings.
But when vampires start attacking werewolves without provocation, Adelheid draws the attention of those that would seek to have Cameron's Law repealed and would send the preternaturals back into the shadows they used to hide in, but without the safety of their anonymity and their law.

This is a good story that I enjoyed from the start. On my Nook this book has 500 pages. It is hard not to like a masked man fighting the evil on the streets. Will be looking for more of Julie Harrington's books.

For me this was an audiobook listen. I have loved the Elvis Cole and Joe Pike books from the start. Taken has both Elvis Cole and Joe Pike along with another character John Stone lending support. Yes, Elvis Cole is the Worlds greatest detective but in this book Joe Pike and John Stone have all the action. I found myself interested in the John Stone character and would like to read more about him. This novel has a good storyline and keeps you reading or in my case listening.
When Nita Morales hires Elvis Cole to find her missing adult daughter, she isn’t afraid, even though she’s gotten a phone call asking for ransom. She knows it’s a fake, that her daughter is off with the guy Nita will only call “that boy,” and that they need money: “Even smart girls do stupid things when they think a boy loves them.”
But Nita is wrong. The girl and her boyfriend have been taken by bajadores – bandits who prey on other bandits, border professionals who prey not only on innocent victims, but on each other. They steal drugs, guns, and people – buying and selling victims like commodities, and killing the ones they can’t get a price for.
Elvis Cole and Joe Pike find the spot where they were taken. There are tire tracks, bullet casings, and bloodstains. They know things look as bad as possible. But they are wrong, too. It is about to get worse. Going undercover to find the two young people and buy them back, Cole himself is taken, and now it is up to Joe Pike to retrace Cole’s steps, burning through the hard and murderous world of human traffickers to find his friend.

For me Michael Connelly consistently tells a great story. Harry Bosh is a character who I have journeyed with for many years. We have gotten to see how time and age have made Harry who he is, and why he keeps going.
Harry Bosch has been given three years before he must retire from the LAPD, and he wants cases more fiercely than ever. In one morning, he gets two.
DNA from a 1989 rape and murder matches a 29-year-old convicted rapist. Was he an eight-year-old killer or has something gone terribly wrong in the new Regional Crime Lab? The latter possibility could compromise all of the lab's DNA cases currently in court.
Then Bosch and his partner are called to a death scene fraught with internal politics. Councilman Irvin Irving's son jumped or was pushed from a window at the Chateau Marmont. Irving, Bosch's longtime nemesis, has demanded that Harry handle the investigation.

This is the 3rd book in the Dirk & Steele series. The book has 282 pages on the Nook. I liked this book the story moves at a fast pace but it took longer for me to get into the story then the first book did. I think that all the characters in the Dirk & Steele detective agency are interesting and like finding out more about them and their powers.
This time it's clairvoyant Dean Campbell, set on the trail of a nonhuman criminal in Taipei who is flagrantly setting people on fire. Also in Taiwan is anthropologist Mirabelle "Miri" Lee, who makes a rare discovery at an archaeological site: a 4,000-year-old piece of red jade, embedded in the body of a mummy. When Dean and Miri meet up, it's a shock: Twenty years ago, they were best friends -- beginning to be teenage lovers -- when an accident killed Miri. Or so Dean thought. Now someone is being paid to kidnap Miri and steal the jade. On the way to finding the murderer, Dean discovers an old love, an older magic, and the beginnings of a new future.

This book is the first in the Dirk & Steele series. Book has 272 pages on the Nook. I Liked this first novel by Marjorie M. Liu. She introduces us into a world of magical, paranormal and shape shifting characters. Dela is a metal artist with an affinity to metal, while Hari is a shape shifter, these two meet right out of the box. The story will keep you reading at a good pace.
He looks out of place in Dela Reese's Beijing hotel room- exotic and poignant, some mythic, tragic hero of an epic tale. With his feline yellow eyes, he's like nothing from her world. Yet Dela has danced through the echo of his soul and knows this warrior will obey her every command.
Hari has been used and abused for millennia. But he sees, upon his release from the riddle box, that this new mistress is different. For me this was a short book, on the Nook it was 119 pages. The story was not as developed as I would have liked. In this story we didn't get to see the romance develop, so I didn't have much feelings either way for these characters. Maybe if the story were longer we would of had a chance to know these two better.
Millie Brown has loved Peter Sheridan for as long as she could remember, and there is nothing more she wants than to be his wife, but no matter how hard she tries, he pushes her away. Find out just how far she is willing to go for “For the Love of Pete”.

I enjoyed this Scottish romance. Kate Campbell and Callum MacGregor are both well defined characters. The story sweeps you right along in a family fight between the Campbells and the MacGregors.

This story is a fast easy read that can hold your attention. The story is well developed for a novella.
